Donate to Alliance for Living
We encourage donations of gently used men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. Fall and winter clothes are accepted from September through March. Spring and summer clothes are accepted from April through August. We encourage retail businesses to consider donations of overstock items.
Non-perishable high protein canned goods are an essential part of our ELP food bank. Durin gthe growing season we will always accept fresh vegetables and fruit. Contact Laurie McElwee at 860-447-0884 ext. 229.
Personal Hygiene Items
Alliance members appreciate the availability of personal hygiene items at the ELP Food Bank. Due to the high cost, these items are not always available. We always need deodorant for men and women, toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, creme rinse, men's shaving cream, hand lotion, body wash, and hand soap.
Each month AFL spends $1500 on food, personal hygiene items, and household cleaning supplies that are not usually available at the Food Bank. Donations of gift cards from local grocery chain stores, Wal-Mart and Target allow AFL staff to purchase items that are not available at the United Way Food Bank. Or, feel free to drop off personal hygiene and household supplies at the Living Center, 154 Broad Street, New London, CT For more information contact us at email@example.com.
